One of the best things about wooden boats is that they are mostly long lived and are repairable. Many older boats have a wonderful history that is passed on between successive owners and some vessels remain in the same family, passed on to the next generation to enjoy.

At Denman Marine, our team of highly skilled boat builders can repair or restore your wooden boat to her former glory.

We provide repair and restoration services for traditional boats made from carvel or clinker construction and also vessels constructed using more modern methods such as strip planking or cold molding.

We can also provide interior re-fit services to give you old boat a facelift.

Our purpose built workshop is fully insulated to minimise climatic extremes and can house vessels up to 50' long.

Our labour rates are very favourable compared to mainland rates which can make a huge difference on a large restoration job, easily eclipsing any cost of getting the boat to us.

Denman Marine specialises in custom wooden boat building and repair. We utilise both traditional methods such as carvel or clinker and modern methods such as strip planking, cold molding or clinker plywood.

We can custom build to any design - for example those by Iain Oughtred, Paul Gartside, John Welsford, Mark Bowdidge, Francois Vivier, Atkin , Bolger B&B etc.

We are sole Australian agents for Swallow Boats including the BayRaider and also importers and re-sellers of the world renowned Joubert BS1088 Gaboon Marine Plywood ( Lloyds certified and FSC certified).
